Liveworksheets: Transforming Paper Activities into Interactive Exercises
Following our previous discussion, today we’re diving into Liveworksheets, a platform that transforms traditional paper activities into interactive exercises. These exercises can be self-corrected and submitted to teachers, enhancing the learning experience.
Overview
Liveworksheets allows you to convert your existing paper activities into interactive online exercises. The service encourages sharing your created worksheets, with a limit of 10 private sheets. This model promotes the exchange of work to expand their gallery, though it may seem controversial as it requires sharing to fully utilize the service.
Plans and Limitations
While the free plan is suitable for casual use, daily users may face limitations, such as:
- Number of Workbooks: Limited in the standard subscription plan.
- Data Retention: Results are deleted after 30 days in the standard subscription.
One notable drawback is that it doesn’t aggregate student work into a readable format for collective correction. Each student’s work must be reviewed individually. Additionally, creating and managing classroom activities can be cumbersome, as students need to follow multiple steps to join activities, and teachers have limited control over what students can view.
Example Activity
For illustration, I created a Christmas worksheet. Although it could be given as a printed handout, Liveworksheets allows students to receive instant feedback on their performance. Teachers can review the completed work and provide additional tasks or comments if students are subscribed.
Check out the Christmas worksheet example.
Interactive Workbook
You can also create an interactive workbook containing up to 120 worksheets, which can be completed by a maximum of 100 students using a hidden code.
Liveworksheets offers a creative approach to interactive learning, though its sharing model and limitations may influence how frequently you use it.
